Position: MST Therapist – Venango, Clarion & Forest Counties



Provides intensive home-based clinical services to families and youth involved with the juvenile justice system with the goal of preventing out of home placement.  Must be capable of working closely with probation and community providers in collaboration with evidence-based outcomes in alignment with MHY goals and strategies.  Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Conducts MST assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses and development an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the environmental context. 
  • Engages primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barrier to engagement. 
  • Implements problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review and strategy revision procedures using the MST Analytic Process.
  • Maintains clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrates compliance with MST principles and Analytic Process.
  • Collaborates with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure buy-in and cooperation throughout MST treatment, and in support of outcomes and objectives set forth by MHY. 
  • Provides direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
  • Participates in all MST training, supervision and consultation activities. 
  • Attends group and team meetings as required.


This has no supervisory responsibilities.


Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field of study, and demonstrated success in the clinical treatment of youth with serious antisocial behavior.  Prior experience in family and youth therapies using cognitive and behavioral approaches strongly preferred, as is prior experience in social skills assessment and intervention and child development approaches.  Must be 21 years of age with current Act 33, 24 and FBI Clearances.  Current PA state driver’s license with evidence of an insurable driving record required.  Must possess demonstrated PC skills including common MS Office applications.  Additional training or licensing as required by regulations, or as deemed necessary by the Executive Director or Director.
