Residential Services
MHY Family Services operates three residential programs on our main campus in Mars, Pennsylvania which is located in Butler County. With the ability service serve youth throughout the Commonwealth, MHY Family Services treats the behavioral and emotional issues that prevent youth from succeeding in home, school and community settings with individualized and trauma informed strategies. MHY’s programs include:
- Diversion & Acute Stabilization Program (DAS) is an intensive residential program serving both males and females, ages 9-17, with a goal to stabilized behaviors within 28 days so youth can return to home and family.
- Residential Therapeutic Facility Program (RTF) serves males, ages 11 to 18, who require an intensive and specialized trauma-informed behavioral health treatment to improve individual and family functioning and supporting the development of skills to return to home or to a less restrictive setting.
MHY’s residential cottages offer youth a home-like and comfortable environment where he or she participates in individual, group and family therapy. According to this model, treatment, particularly for youth with a mental health diagnosis, is likely to be most effective when it occurs during the day-to-day activities of living. MHY’s residential service programs follow a creative approach to self-esteem building, problem solving, developing life skills and appropriate social behavior. Youth in our residential programs are enrolled in the Mars Area School District who determines their educational placement which in some instances is MHY’s Longmore Academy.
